Trucking news and briefs for Tuesday, April 11, 2023:

Navistar is recalling approximately 770 model year 2021-2024 International LT and RH trucks, according to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration documents.

The recall was issued because the engine control module (ECM) may be unresponsive to throttle pedal application, which can cause the trucks to unexpectedly slow to idle speed on the road.

Dealers will update the ECM software free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 26. Owners can contact Navistar's customer service at 1-800-448-7825 with recall number 23509. NHTSA’s recall number is 23V-220.

Forward Intermodal will operate a secure container drop yard in the area, while cohabitating with an existing LTL terminal which is expected to create transloading efficiencies and improve speed for its customers. The intermodal operation is expected to move into a new building in the coming months and create approximately 35 driver and support staff jobs.
